# What it can read and write

> Everything Your AI tool can look up in Recontrol, the five things it can change, and what it never does.

Your AI tool acts as you: only your spaces, and only what your role allows. Recontrol works out every figure.

## It reads

* A space's summary, and accounts with balances on any day
* Spending or income by category, against the period before
* One figure for a category or merchant ("How much went to Uber this year?")
* Transactions, by words in their note and by period
* Goals, with where each stands
* What-ifs from the planning engine, using only growth you state
* Whether you can afford something, from what the space usually keeps

## It changes

* Record or correct a transaction
* Update a hand-kept account's balance
* Add an account, category or source
* Make a space, or change its currency
* Set or change a goal

Each change is previewed and saved only when confirmed. If a name could mean two things, or a space isn't named, it asks.

## It never

* Deletes anything
* Touches banks, members, roles or a subscription
* Moves money
* Reads budgets, watchlists or connections

Each tool takes up to 60 calls a minute per person.
