# Alerts and notifications

> Set an alert on a budget, a goal, or a card or loan, and find what Recontrol told you in one place.

An **alert** is what you set on a thing; a **notification** is what arrives. Tap the **bell** on a budget, a goal, or a card or loan (on the web, its **Alerts** tab), tick what you want, and save.

| **A budget** | Spending reaches 50%, 75%, 90% or 100% of the limit; what the period came to | 90%, 100%, the period's end |
| **A goal** | It's reached, or paid off | On |
| **A card or loan** | What it owes **Falls To** or **Rises To** an amount; a payment **Reminder**, and **If It's Overdue** | Nothing |

Every member whose [role](https://recontrol.money/docs/features/spaces.md#roles) can see that thing is told. Nothing is sent when a goal falls behind.

Besides alerts, you're told only when a bank needs reconnecting, a space's bank sync pauses or ends, or your membership changes. A single new transaction is never announced.

## Your inbox

The **bell** on Home opens **Notifications**. Tapping one switches to its space and opens what it's about; it leaves once its cause is fixed.

## Pushes

Pushes at night wait until 08:00 in the space's time zone, and several fold into one. To stop them, turn off Recontrol's notifications in your phone's settings; your inbox keeps everything. The web sends none.
