# Pricing and subscription

> The ledger is free forever. A subscription pays for the work done on your behalf: bank sync, Chat and categories done for you.

**Free, forever, with no limits:** accounts, transactions and history; budgets, goals and watchlists; spaces, members and roles; currencies; alerts; the web, [export](https://recontrol.money/docs/tasks/export-your-data.md) and [your AI tool](https://recontrol.money/docs/ai-tool.md).

**A subscription adds** [**Connect Banks and Brokers**](https://recontrol.money/docs/features/connections.md), [**Chat**](https://recontrol.money/docs/features/chat.md), and **Auto-Categorise Transactions**: each imported transaction lands where you'd have put it.

## Buying

Monthly or annually, for the same thing. New subscribers get **one free month**, once, as your store's introductory offer: it charges when the month is up unless you cancel first. Your store shows the price in your currency; the US prices are on [recontrol.money/pricing](https://recontrol.money/pricing).

Buy in the phone app; it works on the web at once. The web sells nothing.

## If it ends

Nothing is deleted, hidden or broken. Bank sync stops, with its history kept; Chat stops answering. Your ledger stays yours and editable, forever.

## Who pays for what

**Bank connections belong to the space.** They sync while a member's subscription **sponsors** it. Subscribing sponsors every space where you're the only member; a shared space takes one tap, **Use My Subscription Here**. Several people may sponsor one space. No one can commit someone else's subscription.

**Chat belongs to you.** It runs on your own subscription, in any space you're in.

Manage this in **Settings › Subscription › Spaces Your Subscription Sponsors**. On the web, **Your account › Your subscription**, or **Paid for by** on a space's **Connections**. To cancel, restore or get a refund, see [Billing help](https://recontrol.money/docs/support/billing.md).
