# Transactions

> Record where money came from and where it went, read it back, find it again, and fix it.

A transaction records how much, on which day, **From** one place **To** another: ₹500 From Savings To Groceries. To add one, see [Record a transaction](https://recontrol.money/docs/tasks/record-a-transaction.md).

## Reading one

Tap a transaction to see its amount, From and To, date, and the plans it counts in. A bank import says **Imported from Chase**; its bank side, amount and date can't be edited. **Edit**, **Record Again** and **Delete** (with **Undo**) are on it, or a long press on its row.

A transaction between two currencies keeps both real amounts; to change its amount or accounts, delete it and record it again.

## The list

**Transactions**, at the bottom of Home, groups by day, newest first, with search. **Filter** narrows by **From** and **To**, **On or After** and **On or Before**, and **No Less Than** and **No More Than**.

## Money between two of your spaces

A transaction can have its other side in another of your spaces, such as household spending paid from your personal account. It's kept in both books, each from its own side. If you expect it back, tick **Household Will Pay It Back**; class screens list these under **Other Spaces**. Only someone in both spaces can change its amount or date.

## On the web

Days follow the space's time zone. Search finds a note, an account or an amount. **Filter** adds **Is Not**, **Person** and **Came From**; **Views** keeps filters by name. A line adds up what's shown: spent, came in, moved. An account's register shows its **Balance**.

Select rows to **Move**, **Rename**, **Export CSV** or **Delete** them, with **Undo**; the ⋯'s **Export CSV** takes everything shown. **To sort** narrows it to sides left blank; see [Sort what synced](https://recontrol.money/docs/tasks/sort-what-synced.md).
