# Widgets and Siri

> Budgets and what's due on your Home Screen, Controls, Siri's answers, and shortcuts on the app's icon. Widgets, Controls and Siri need iPhone, iOS 18 or later.

These read what the app last loaded. **Nothing is saved until you save it in the app.**

## Widgets

Touch and hold your Home Screen, choose **Edit** › **Add Widget**, and find **Recontrol**.

| **Budget** | What's left and its days. Medium shows three. On the Lock Screen, the share spent, or what's left |
| **Coming Up** | What's due next, from [recurring transactions](https://recontrol.money/docs/features/recurring-transactions.md) and your bank |

To choose another budget or space, touch and hold it, then **Edit Widget**.

A widget updates when you open Recontrol, for every space. Past an hour it says how old its figures are. When a budget's period ends, it asks you to open Recontrol.

## Controls

Add **New Transaction** or **Talk to Recontrol** to Control Center, the Lock Screen or the Action button. Talk opens Chat listening; nothing is sent until you send it.

## On the app's icon

Touch and hold Recontrol's icon, on iPhone or Android, for **New Transaction**, **Chat**, **Talk** and, when something's due soon, **Coming Up**.

## Siri, Spotlight and Shortcuts

| "How much is left in Groceries in Recontrol" | Says what's left in a budget |
| "How much did I spend on Flights last month in Recontrol" | Says a category's spending, last or this month |
| "When is my card due in Recontrol" | Says a connected card's or loan's next due date |
| "Record spending on Groceries in Recontrol" | Asks how much, then opens the form |
| "Update Savings in Recontrol" | Opens the account's balance form |

Each asks you to unlock first.

## Privacy

With **Hide Amounts** or **Secure with Face ID** on, widgets and Siri show no figures. On a locked phone a widget hides its figures and names; the Lock Screen's share stays. A push still says its amount; to hide it, turn off **Show Previews** in iOS Settings.
