# FAQ

## Is Recontrol free?

The ledger is free forever, with no limits and no trial clock. A subscription adds bank connections, Chat, and imported transactions placed for you; if it ends, nothing is deleted. See [Pricing and subscription](https://recontrol.money/docs/features/subscription.md).

## Does Recontrol move my money?

No. It records money and never moves it. **Mark Paid in Full** records a payment you made with your bank.

## Does it connect to my bank?

Banks, cards and brokerages in the US and Canada connect through Plaid, and Zerodha holdings in India. Recontrol never sees your bank login. See [Connect a bank](https://recontrol.money/docs/tasks/connect-a-bank.md).

## Is my data private?

It's stored encrypted in the United States. Members of a space see everything in it. We don't sell your data or show ads, and analytics never include your balances, transactions, name or email. See [Security](https://recontrol.money/docs/data/security.md).

## Is Chat safe?

Recontrol computes every figure, and nothing changes until you confirm it. Your question and the records it needs go to Anthropic only after you turn on **AI features**; your name, email and account numbers never do. See [AI and your data](https://recontrol.money/docs/data/ai.md).

## Can I use Claude or ChatGPT?

## How do I share with my household?

Make a space and invite them with a role. See [Share a space](https://recontrol.money/docs/tasks/share-a-space.md).

## Can I use more than one currency?

Yes: each account keeps its own, and each space adds up in one. See [Currencies](https://recontrol.money/docs/concepts/currencies.md).

## Where's my net worth?

There isn't one: nothing nets what you have against what you owe. For a combined total, such as your home after its mortgage, make a [watchlist](https://recontrol.money/docs/features/watchlists.md).

## How do I get my data out?

## What happens when I delete my account?

Everything only you hold is deleted at once, with no backups; what you recorded in a shared space stays. Deleting doesn't cancel a subscription. See [Delete your account](https://recontrol.money/docs/tasks/delete-your-account.md).
