# Ask Chat

> Ask about your money in your own words, and have Chat record or fix something when you confirm it.

For a question that would take several screens: "How much went to Uber this year?". Chat comes with the subscription.

**1. Open Chat**

Tap **Chat** on Home. On the web, type your question in Home's box (or <kbd>⌘</kbd><kbd>K</kbd>) and choose **Ask Chat**, or pick one of the three questions it builds from your numbers: the conversation opens under the box, or in the middle of the window, and keeps when you close it. A budget that goes over sends **Ask Why**, which opens Chat about it.

**2. Turn on AI features, the first time**

Nothing goes to Anthropic until you do. See [AI and your data](https://recontrol.money/docs/data/ai.md).

**3. Ask**

Chat shows the rows it found, then its answer. Tap a row to open it.

**4. Confirm a change, if you asked for one**

"Record ₹450 for groceries from Cash" comes back as a card. Tap its verb, or **Decline**. Nothing is saved until you confirm.

A confirmed change is made under your own role, with a receipt that opens it.
