# Delete your account

> Permanently delete your Recontrol account and the spaces only you are in, from the phone or the web.

Deleting is immediate and permanent; there are no backups. [Export](https://recontrol.money/docs/tasks/export-your-data.md) first if you want a copy.

> **Deleting doesn't cancel your subscription.** It belongs to your App Store or Google Play account: [cancel it there](https://recontrol.money/docs/support/billing.md#how-do-i-cancel) first.

**1. Open Settings**

Tap your picture on Home. On the web, your menu, then **Your account**, then **Edit your profile**.

**2. Choose Delete My Recontrol Account**

The last row.

**3. Type the sentence, and tap Delete**

Type **I want to delete my Recontrol account.** in the field under it. On the web, then **Delete my account**.

* **Deleted:** your profile, every space only you are in, your connections, Chat questions, notifications and settings.
* **Stays:** what you recorded in a shared space, as "Former member". If you were its only administrator, the longest-standing member becomes one.
* **Stops:** bank sync in spaces you sponsored.
