# Sort what synced

> Give imported transactions the category or source they need, and move one that landed in the wrong place.

Recontrol places an imported transaction's other side for you. Spending it couldn't place isn't in your figures until you sort it.

**1. Open Sort Your Spending**

On **Expenses**, under **Actions**: "Where did ₹4,210 go this month? Give it a category and it counts." A budget shows the same row.

**2. Tap a transaction, then Edit**

**3. Choose the category in To, and tap Save**

For money that came in, the source in **From**. The bank's side, amount and date can't change.

It counts at once, and later transactions from that merchant follow it. **Sort Your Spending** opens the spending that waits.

**On the web,** the count beside **Transactions** in the sidebar narrows the register to every blank side: select them, press `c` to choose what they were, and Enter. To move many, select them and choose **Move**; it says what moves ("12 transactions, ₹45,200 in all, move to Groceries.") before anything changes, with **Undo**.
