A budget is a limit over a week, month, quarter or year, on categories (what’s spent in them) or cards and accounts (what’s spent from them). It holds no money. To set one, see Set a budget.

What counts

  • Money that reached a category counts once.
  • A refund reduces it.
  • A transfer between your own accounts, such as paying the card’s bill, never counts.
  • Money with no category from a bank or cash account waits in Sort Your Spending.
Each purchase is converted into the space’s reporting currency.

The screen

  1. What’s left, or “₹1,900 over” in red, with a bar.
  2. This Month: Spent, Limit, Starts Again.
  3. History: a bar per period, with Months Over (“1 of 12”).
  4. Where It Went, then every transaction it counted.
A budget states facts, never a forecast. ⋯ holds Edit Budget and Delete Budget.

Alerts

As You Spend tells members at 50%, 75%, 90% or 100% (90% and 100% to start). When It Ends sends what the period came to. See Alerts. No envelopes, and no rollover of what’s unspent.
